Don’t sleep on this New Jersey star who boasts over 85 million streams and features by artists like Post Malone and Pusha T.

Moxie Raia is the hyped artist, dancer, and songwriter who was one of the opening acts on Justin Bieber’s massive Purpose Tour. With over 85 million streams and features by artists such as Post Malone, Wyclef and Pusha T - the New Jersey singer’s journey to playing stadiums with one of the world's biggest pop stars began years ago. Moxie Raia was a competitive dancer by the age of six, she was writing her own songs by 10, and by the age of thirteen - she applied to a performing arts school in New York City without her parents' knowledge.

Rolling Stone defines Moxie Raia’s sound as “a summer kickback” and Noisey describes it as “near-perfect pop made visceral by Raia’s jazz student roots and acrobatic vocal range, left just rough enough around the edges to get under your skin”. With a captivating and powerful voice that touches one’s soul, Moxie is mainly influenced by the soul music she grew up on, singing from the truth of her experience. She says it best: “even if it’s a happy song, it has its roots in something raw and real. When I’m making music I need to get that indescribable feeling or I’m not interested.”

“When I’m making music, I’m not thinking about anything but trying to make something true” she says. “I like bringing things together, all of my influences, all of these things added up together.” Perhaps the most important of those influences is Moxie’s father, who filled her childhood home with soul music.

With an emotive voice that hits you right in the feels - combined with explosive songwriting and relatable storytelling - Moxie manages to create music that speaks to one’s soul.
