Spotify Launches Real-Time Lyrics in 26 Markets
Want to know how to get your lyrics on Spotify? Find out what its new real-time lyrics feature means for you.
Amuse, amuse
Spotify has launched its new real-time lyrics feature that gives music fans access to millions of song lyrics, all within the Spotify app.
The new feature is live across 26 markets, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Offering real-time lyrics in the language in which the songs are sung, users are able to access the feature by tapping “Lyrics” at the bottom of the “Now Playing” screen.
Powered by Spotify’s global partner Musixmatch, the feature lets fans read the lyrics of their favourite songs, as the words scroll by synchronised in time with the beat.
To use the new feature, open your Spotify app and select a track to play. If the song is supported, you’ll be able to scroll down to the ‘Lyrics’ card sitting right below the ‘Now Playing’ section.
So, how do you get your lyrics on Spotify?
Only certain songs support this feature right now, but most mainstream tracks are supported by in-app lyrics. To up your chances, add your lyrics to the Musixmatch catalogue.
Here’s the full list of countries with access to the new feature:
Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
